facebook thumbs up#1) Publish Engaging Content

You can’t expect users to like and follow your Facebook page if it contains little-to-no actual content. Try to get into the habit of publishing new content that’s relevant to your target audience on a regular basis. According to a recent study conducted by the social media marketing firm SocialBakers, photos account for 93% of the most engaging posts on Facebook, so this is usually a good starting point. In addition to photos, however, you may also want to include text, links, videos, and shared content from other users.

#2) Comment on Other Pages

If you aren’t commenting on other Facebook pages, you are missing out on one of the easiest ways to attract new followers. Take a few minutes to find and follow pages that are related to your niche. Next, check out some of their content and leave a constructive comment. As long you as post the comment as your Facebook page and not your profile (tip: you can change from profile to page by clicking the drop down arrow at the top of your page), other users will see your comment, and some of these users may check out and follow your page as well.

#3) Boost Your Posts

Facebook launched a self-serving ad platform a few years back, and it has quickly grown to become one of the leading online marketing platforms. Known as Facebook Ads, you can use it to “boost” your posts; thus, giving them more visibility. Just click the “Boost Post” link at the lower-right corner of a post, select your audience, budget, and duration for the ad, and click “Boost Post.”

#4) Add a ‘Like-This-Page’ Widget to Your Website

If you have a website, why not promote your Facebook page on it? You can always add a plain text link to your Facebook page, but a more effective solution to embed a like-this-page widget. Doing so will allow visitors to like your Facebook page without ever leaving your site. As long as they are signed into their Facebook account, they can just click the like button in the widget to begin following your page. You can learn more about Facebook widgets and how to use them by visiting the developers’ help page at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/like-box-for-pages.

#5) Comment on Blogs

Of course, you may also attract new Facebook followers by commenting on blogs. How exactly does this work? It’s not uncommon for blogs to allow visitors to submit comments while specifying their own website. Rather than including a link to your website in the comment, however, you should include your Facebook page URL. The blog’s readers will notice your comment, and some of them will likely visit/follow your Facebook page.
