4 Things Internet Marketers Should Automate

Don’t make running your website harder than it has to be, this post will cover 4 things internet marketers should automate.

automate your website

Whether you’re a webmaster or Internet market (or both?), there are certain tasks that you should automate for greater efficiency. Even if you can perform them manually by hand, opting for automation will free up time and resources that can be spent on other projects.

Social Media Posts

We all know the importance of posting new content to social media on a regular basis. Without content, there’s no reason for users to ‘like’ or follow your page – and your existing followers may look elsewhere for content, such as one of your competitor’s social media accounts. The good news is that you can automate your social media posts so you aren’t forced to log in and post new content on a daily basis. Facebook as a convenient post scheduling tool, or you can use a third-party service like HootSuite.

Blog Posts

In addition to social media, you should also automate your blog posts. Most of the leading blogging platforms (e.g. WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Blogger and Tumblr) allow posts to be scheduled in advance. You can go ahead and create the post, but rather than publishing it, schedule it for a later date.

So, how many blog posts should you publish per week? There’s really no magic answer, as each and every blog is different. With that said, publishing between two and three posts per week seems to work well in most niches and applications.

Website Backups

Are you creating regular backups of your website? If not, you should be! Hopefully, nothing will happen to your site, but if the server crashes or experiences other forms of failure, you’ll want a backup copy on hand to get it back up and running. Instead of creating these backups manually, though, you should automate them. Check with your web host to see if they offer automated backups. Most reputable web hosts have some type of automated backup feature in place, although you’ll need to set it up before it will create copies of your site.

Analytics Reports

Last but not least, you should automate your website’s analytics reports. Using this information, you can optimize your site for better performance and more traffic.
