5 reasons to use facebook adsWhether you’re looking to boost sales, create stronger brand awareness, build a strong following, or just make your business known on the web, Facebook Ads can help. The social media giant originally launched its advertising platform in 2012. Since then, it has grown into the most popular and effective ad platforms on the Internet.

Just check out some of the benefits it offers listed below.

Multiple Pricing Options

Facebook Ads offers two different pricing models from which advertisers can choose:

Cost-per-impression (CPM) or cost-per-click (CPC). CPC is a standard pricing model used in a number of self-serving ad platforms. Each time a user clicks on an ad, the advertiser incurs a cost (usually ranging between $0.05 and $0.50). CPM differs in the sense that the advertisers are charged a flat amount for each 1,000 ad impression. So once 1,000 people have seen your ad, you’ll be charged based, regardless of how many users actually clicked it.

Facebook Limits Promotional Posts in Users’ Feeds

Another reason to use Facebook’s paid advertising platform is because the social media giant is slowing but surely weeding out promotional posts in users’ news feeds. As of January 2015, Facebook began showing fewer promotional posts in users’ news feeds. If you want to advertise your products and/or services on Facebook, you should use Facebook Ads instead.

Beginning in January 2015, people will see less of this type of content in their News Feeds. As we’ve said before, News Feed is already a competitive place — as more people and Pages are posting content, competition to appear in News Feed has increased,” said Facebook when announcing the policy change.

Enhanced Ads

The next time you are browsing around on Facebook, check out the ads on the right-hand side. Notice how most, if not all, of them contain images? Facebook Ads allows advertisers to include a thumbnail-sized image, enhancing their ads so they are more appealing. Most other online ad platforms (e.g. Google Adwords and Bing Ads) does not support images – not through direct Search, at least.

Targeting

We can’t talk about reasons to use Facebook Ads without mentioning its vast array of targeting options. Using the social media network’s ad platform, you can target your ads based on user gender, age, location, hobbies, interests and more. If you operate a wedding dress boutique, for instance, you may want to target females who have their relationship status listed as “engaged.”

Tons of Traffic

To say Facebook receives “a lot of traffic” would be an understatement. According to the company’s own website, more than 1.4 billion people use Facebook each month, 900 million of whom visit it each day.
